Lucien Woorons

  • 40 years of experience coaching high performance athletes in gymnastics, fitness and tennis
  • Specializes in biomechanics, muscle memory, mental toughness and fitness training
  • Lucien coached Sophie from age 8 through her Junior international career and the WTA Tour, traveling around Europe and the US. His experience with competition and player development is unparalleled.

Max Desmars

  • Director of Program Development and Head Tennis Professional at Brookstone Tennis
  • Selected as the recipient of the 2014 USPTA Southern Rookie of the Year
  • Works with athletes to get them prepared for College Tennis
  • Students come from as far as the Georgia to train with Max

  • Runs the USTA Team Clinics and prepares our players for League play and State Championships
  • Graduate of Lander University, Greenwood, SC where he was a scholarship athlete for 4 years
  • Started working at Brookstone in June 2012

Hal Thompson

  • Head men's Tennis Coach at Erksine College
  • Grew up in Anderson, SC
  • Played number 1 for T.L. Hanna High School and earned All-State Honors
  • Graduated from Erskine College with a degree in History
  • Played for Erskine College number 1 doubles and number 2 singles. Made the NCAA sweet 16 Div. 2
  • After teaching at local clubs for 14 years, Hal was hired to coach at his alma mater, Erskine College. He now divides his time between Brookstone and Erskine. This has given Hal a wide range of teaching specialties from pure beginners to highly advanced players and Hal loves teaching them all! His specialty is the serve so if that ever breaks down, he's your guy!

  Colin Cotter
  • Assistant Teaching Professional
  • Colin is one of our biggest success stories: he grew up in the Brookstone Tennis Program, played number 1 for Wren High School, accepted a full academic scholarship to study Chemistry at the College of Charleston and then returned home to Brookstone to work full time as an assistant teaching professional.
  • Coaches the Kids Club, Junior Development, and Summer Camps as well as instructs in Clinics, Cardio and private lessons
